If you are travelling to Amsterdam from Cardiff Airport then KLM want to help you enjoy the Dutch capital with the help of their brand new Smart Care Tag.

The Smart Care Tag from KLM is a specially designed audio luggage tag wich is designed to offer pre-recorded advice at specific locations around Amsterdam. It uses an offline GPS module to know when you have a reached a specific spot and a speaker to play an audio file.

KLM have used their crews to record the information which is currently only available in English.

The Smart Care Tag is part of KLM‘s plans to become the most customer-centric European airline and is unusual as it takes the service beyond the plane or the airport, the point where most airlines stop caring.

The small device will be available in September and can be ordered online for free by passengers who travel to Amsterdam with KLM. It can be attached to clothing or a backpack. It is designed not for standard tourist tips, but insightful tips ranging from busy intersections with a lot of cyclists, where and how to lock your bike and when you have to watch out for pickpockets. But also more light-hearted tips such as where to taste local food for free, where to see great street art or where to rent a bike or boat. With the Care

But also more light-hearted tips such as where to taste local food for free, where to see great street art or where to rent a bike or boat. With the Care Tag you always have someone that guides you through the city.”

Over the last few years, Amsterdam has rapidly become one of the most popular tourist destinations in the world. In January this year over 1 million people visited the city, a record for the city.
