Virgin Atlantic to keep the A340 flying a bit longer

Virgin Atlantic (VS/VIR) will keep its Airbus A340-600 aircraft flying a bit longer than its planned 26th October retirement date.

The Airbus A340-600 will now continue to operate to flights to Delhi and New York until 8th December according to updated schedules listings.

Some Virgin Atlantic were brought out of storage to cover capacity needed following the problems with Virgins 787 fleet

When G-VNAP “Sleeping Beauty” returned to the active service it was renamed “Sleeping Beauty Rejuvenated” and carried the slogan “a big Virgin Atlantic thank you” on its fuselage.

With the 787’s coming back online and the arrival of the airlines Airbus A350 aircraft then the time is coming to say a final goodbye to the A340.
