As reported last week, The Airbus A330-800, the shorter variant of new A330neo’s, is to take its first flight this week on Tuesday the 6th November.

Weather permitting the A330-800 will take off from Toulouse around 09:30hrs on Tuesday morning for a flight expected to last a few hours.

The aircraft, whose wings are made in the UK, will need to carry out around 300 flying hours to complete the certification programme.

The A330-800neo variant is a 257-seat aircraft capable of flying 8,150nm. The aircraft has no firm orders but it does have commitments from Uganda Airlines (M.O.A for 2 airframes) and Kuwait Airways (Purchase Agreement for 8 airframes).
