UK holiday airline Thomas Cook is planning to add a series of charter flights to Sri Lanka to its Winter 18/19 program.
The flights will operate from London Gatwick (LGW/EGKK) and Manchester (MAN/EGCC) to Colombo (CMB/VCBI) in October 2018 and January 2019 using an Airbus A330-200 aircraft.
Colombo is the capital of Sri Lanka and was a vital port on ancient east-west trade routes. The history of the city is reflected in its architecture which mixes colonial buildings with tower blocks, skyscrapers and shopping malls.
The Colombo National Museum and the vast Viharamahadevi Park are must-see places for any visitor to Colombo as is the giant Buddha.
