Football giants Real Madrid and Juventus will arrive at Cardiff Airport (CWL/EGFF) today with Juventus already on their way.
Both teams will compete in the UEFA Champions League Final tomorrow evening at the National Stadium of Wales in Cardiff.
Juventus left Turin (TRN/LIMF) earlier this morning onboard Alitalia AZ9518,an Airbus A321 (EI-IXZ) and are due to arrive at Cardiff Airport around 11:30. The team will then be taken to their hotel in central Cardiff to prepare for tomorrows match.
Home-town hero Gareth Bale and his Real Madrid teammates will arrive later today onboard an Iberia flight IB2800 from Madrid (MAD/LEMD).
Thousands of Italian and Spanish fans will also be arriving at Cardiff Airport over the next 48 hours with Saturday being the busiest day. Up to 24,000 passengers and 400 extra aircraft movements are expected with aircraft ranging from small Airbus A320 and Boeing 737 to massive Airbus A340 and Boeing 777.
Whats going on in Cardiff today?
Ahead of the match tomorrow is a UEFA Champions Festival in Cardiff Bay which is where many of the fans arriving into Cardiff Airport will head.
4pm sees the Ultimate Champions Match take place on the floating pitch in Cardiff Bay. The match will see the likes of Ian Rush, Ryan Giggs & Luis Figo join forces on teams captained by Ruud Gullit and Emilio Butragueño.
In addition to the match, a large Champions Main Stage is situated in Roald Dahl Plass with a host of global and local artists, DJs and bands set to perform throughout each day.
