Norwegian increases UK -US capacity on key routes

Low-cost airline Norwegian has announced an increase in capacity of key routes between the UK and the US.

Service increases will occur from March 2020 on routes including San Francisco and Tampa.

The airlines says that the increase is demand driven which is backed up by Norwegians high load factor which was recently reported.

The route increase are:

  • London Gatwick to San Francisco – Daily Service (up from 5 times per week)
  • London Gatwick to Austin – 4 times per week (up from 3)
  • London Gatwick to Denver – 4 times per week (up from 3)
  • London Gatwick to Tampa – 4 times per week (up from 3).

The route changes equate to 75,000 extra seats available between the the UK and US in Summer 2020.

Matthew Wood, SVP Commercial at Norwegian said: “In line with our business strategy of moving from growth to profitability we are ensuring that we concentrate on key routes across our network where we see strong demand. These frequency adjustments ensure that our customers can have more choice when choosing their flights to the US at fares that remain affordable to all.”

All changes are effective from 29th March 2020.
