Leading UK regional airline Loganair (LM/LOG) has celebrated its growth at Southampton Airport (SOU/EGHI) as it saw its 350,000th passenger pass through the terminal.

The lucky passenger was Rachel Emmerson from Glasgow who is the Commanding Officer of Glasgow and Strathclyde Universities’ Officer Training Corps.

Rachel regularly flies to Southampton to visit her partner Colin and now has a free flight for the next trip after Loganair awarded her a voucher.

Rachel said: “I wasn’t expecting the call that I would be the milestone passenger but I’m a frequent flyer on this route so I’ll certainly be redeeming this voucher soon on my next visit to Southampton.

This service works well for me and it’s an added bonus that Loganair has signed the Armed Forces Covenant and offers an armed forces discount fare.”

Luke Lovegrove, Loganair’s chief commercial officer added: “We are expecting a bumper summer at Southampton this year, so it’s great to see such a fantastic milestone reached. Southampton offers a great alternative to the London airports and has excellent connectivity to the wider region with the train station literally just meters from the terminal building.

Rachel is one of many thousands of valued customers who are taking advantage of our connections in the region, and we look forward to welcoming her onboard another of our high frequency services between Southampton and Glasgow in the future.”

Loganair flies to five destinations from Southampton Airport including Glasgow, Edinburgh and Newcastle which are having their frequencies increased this summer.
