FAR-GO! Ryanair’s new route to the Algarve takes off today

Ireland’s low-cost carrier Ryanair (FR/RYR) today launches its latest route from Cardiff Airport (CWL/EGFF). The new route to the Algarve, Portugal will see Welsh passengers jetting off to Faro for as little as £19.99.

The first flight departs Cardiff Airport today at 11:50 as FR9224 and should arrive in Faro just over 2 hours later.

Already a popular destination with UK holidaymakers, Faro sits in the centre of the Algarve with Olhao and its famous island beaches to the east and the bustling holiday resort of Albufeira to its west making it the perfect way to get to Southern Portugal and the Algarve.

Situated in the heart of the famous Ria Formosa National Park Faro is a town steeped in history. From its busy harbour and historic old town, the designer shops it has something for everyone. A must do when in Faro is the town land train tour. The 45min long journey takes you through the historic and bustling heart of Faro.

Faro makes an ideal city-break but with warm sunshine all year round and stunning beaches the Algarve makes a great family holiday destination too.
