Abu Dhabi based Etihad Airways (EY/ETD) has announced it will start Dreamliner operations at Manchester Airport from November.

A Boeing 787-9 will replace the Boeing 777-300ER on one of the two daily flights between Manchester and Abu Dhabi adding an upgraded experience for travelers between the two cities.

The Dreamliner will operate the morning flight from Manchester (EY016) from the 1st November 2018 while the afternoon flight (EY022) will remain as a 777 until March 2019.

The Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner offers improved passenger comfort by having a reduced cabin altitude. This means that passengers on long-haul flights feel less fatigued on arrival thanks to the higher oxygen content compared to the aircraft it replaces.

In real terms, switching to the 787-9 Dreamliner represents a 10% capacity reduction on the route.
