Low-cost carrier Easyjet (U2/EZY) is set to relaunch its popular route from Southend (SEN/EGMC) to Amsterdam starting from 24th May 2023.
The service will operate four times per week and will be the fourth destination that the carrier operates from the airport following its return.
In addition to the Amsterdam route, Easyjet has also announced two additional weekly flights to the Faro, Portugal.
Speaking about the route John Upton, Southend Airport’s new CEO, said: “This announcement illustrates our commitment to rebuilding our fantastic airport for the future.
“Southend Airport can offer one of the shortest, fastest routes to Amsterdam; an incredible city to visit.
“Passengers will also be able to make global connections from Amsterdam Schiphol airport to onward destinations across the world.
“We hope that lots of people will see the benefit of a hassle-free route through London Southend to Amsterdam to connect for a long-haul flight, compared to flying direct through London’s other crowded airports.”
This means that Easyjet will operate from Southend to Amsterdam, Faro, Malaga and Majorca this summer increasing their activity at the airport by 30%.
