Eastern Airways launch Aberdeen to Teesside air service

Eastern Airways (T3/EZE) is launching a direct flight between Aberdeen Airport (ABZ/EGPD) and Teesside Airport (MME/EGNV) restoring North-east England connectivity to Scotland.

Starting on the 20th May, the new service will initially operate daily Monday to Friday and on a Sunday but this will increase to twice daily from the 9th September.

Chris Tibbett, Aero Director at AGS Airports, said: “We are delighted to welcome back the Aberdeen to Teesside route with Eastern Airways strengthening the ties between the two regions.

“The reinstatement of the Aberdeen to Teesside route reflects our ongoing commitment to meeting the needs of our passengers and supporting the growth of regional air travel.”

Eastern Airways already has a strong presence at Teesside Airport and with the launch of the Aberdeen flights, will operate up to 54 weekly arrivals and departures from the airport.

It has an Embraer E190 based at Teesside which it uses to operate on behalf of KLM to Amsterdam.

Eastern Airways Commercial Director Roger Hage said: “We have been operating from Teesside on multiple every year since 2001 so returning to the Aberdeen service from 20^th May restores familiarity to many faces we have welcomed on-board for many years. 

“We more than any operator know the value of connecting the UK’s energy capital Aberdeen to significant employment centres throughout the UK so adding Teesside to our growing route mix, while also operating services such as Amsterdam on behalf of KLM and the summer seasonal Jersey flights with the addition of Aberdeen all help ensure the long-term future of connectivity from the wider regions of Teesside, North Yorkshire and South Tyneside to the North East of Scotland”.
