Cardiff Airport has experienced more sustained growth over the last 12 months with the rolling 12 month increase now standing at 19%.
According to the latest figures over 1.3 million passengers used Wales’ only international airport between November 2015 and October 2016 boosted by a host of new routes from Flybe and capacity increases from Vueling.
The willingness of travellers to use the Welsh airport was recently demonstrated when Flybe decided to make a temporary Cardiff to London City route permanent due to demand as well as starting the Berlin service 1 month earlier than scheduled.
Spencer Birns, Commercial Director Cardiff Airport, said: “We’ve experienced another month of strong performance from our airlines in October, with customers enjoying a late summer holiday, autumn city breaks and making use of Flybe’s service to London City.
“In fact, the service to London has proven so popular up to now, that Flybe has taken the decision to extend the route for as long as the demand is there”
