Virgin Atlantic unveils new Flying Icon on its Airbus A350

Virgin Atlantic (VS/VIR) has unveiled its new “Flying Icon” nose art on its brand new Airbus A350-1000XWB G-VLUX ‘Red Velvet’.

Virgin aircraft have always carried the companies famous Flying Lady which is based on the pin-up girls made famous in the 1930s and 1940s by Peruvian artist Alberto Vargas.

The new Flying Icons are designed to be more diverse and will feature men and women.

G-VLUX is the first aircraft to receive the new style nose-art but the rest will be rolled out as more A350’s come online.

By introducing our new Flying Icons I hope it encourages people from all backgrounds to feel at home flying with us but also working with us.”
