Leased 767 taking the Rolling Stones around the UK
The Rolling Stones are currently on their #NoFilter tour of the UK which is great news for AvGeeks as it means their private 767 is also touring the UK.
The near 30-year-old Boeing 767-35D(ER), ZS-NEX is being leased from Aeronexus for the tour and is wearing the bands #NoFilter lips on its fuselage.
It arrived into Birmingham Airport (BHX/EGBB) for the Stones first gig before flying the short hop from Birmingham to Manchester Airport (MAN/EGCC) on the 3rd June.
The next stop for the aircraft is Edinburgh (EDI/EGPHG) where the band is playing on the 9th June and then it’s on to Cardiff Airport (CWL/EGFF) where the group plays its only date in Wales on the 15th June.
Exact arrival dates/times are flexible however the band seems to depart the day after a concert in order to spend some time in the next host city before the concert.
Mick, Ronnie, Keith, Charlie and the band play Manchester tonight so Edinburgh Avgeeks should be on alert for an arrival tomorrow.
The Edinburgh gig is on the 9th June so Cardiff should be on Lip Watch from the 10th June ahead of a gig on the 15th.
Following Cardiff, the tour continues on to London before returning to Europe.
Cardiff Airport, of course, is no stranger to large tour planes with Iron Maiden launching their Book of Soul World Tour with a leased Boeing 747-400 known as Ed Force One. With rock royalty on board perhaps ZS-NEX should be redubbed Lip Force One ahead of its arrival!
