Striong growth on the low-cost long-haul routes

Low-cost carrier Norwegian.com has announced it is increasing its London Gatwick to New York service to 3 times per day.

The additional flight will operate 6 days per week (excluding Saturdays) and will leave Gatwick  (LGW/EGKK) at 09:50hrs, arriving in New York (JFK/KJFK) at 13:00hrs.

Giving passengers the option of 3 times per day offers more flexibility to those travelling for Business or short strips, you can now choose departures of early morning (06:00), mid-morning (09:50) or early-evening (17:10).

The increase is an indication of the strong growth Norwegian.com is seeing on its low-cost long-haul services which are taking on legacy carriers such as British Airways and Virgin Atlantic. Both legacy carriers have recently introduced  “basic economy” tickets to try and compete with the likes of Norwegian.com.
