Kurdistan startup airline Fly Erbil to start flights to UK

After a 3 year delay, Fly Ebril has started operations

Kurdistan’s first airline, Fly Erbil, will commence flights to the UK next month.

The startup airline operated its first flight today flying to Sweden today and will operate from Erbil International Airport (EBL/ORER) in Kurdistan to Birmingham Airport (BHX/EGBB) from the 13th July flying via Kiev (IEV/UKKK).

The airline has been supported by the Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) and was due to start operations three years ago but plans were forced to be put on hold due to the war on Islamic State (Daesh).

It will operate as a low-cost carrier connecting the Kurdistan region of Iraq to destinations in Sweden, Germany, Ukraine and the UK.

The airline flies with a single Boeing 737-300 aircraft UR-CQW which is operated by Ukrainian charter airline, Bravo Airways.
