Irish fans travelling through Cardiff Airport at the weekend played a prank on Cardiff Airport announcers getting them to call out for 3 long dead irish political and revolutionary figures.

In a joke that would have been lost on most non-irish passengers (and probably some irish ones too) a group of fans claimed they had been split up from their group and couldn’t find their long-dead pals.

The announcer duly put out a call for Michael Collins, Eamon de Valera and Padraig Pearse to “make themselves known to staff”.

Revolutionary leader Collins, political titan de Valera, and political activist Pearse died in 1922, 1975 and 1916 respectively.
