The UK Government is set to announce a series of “Air Bridges” to popular holiday spots in order to allow quarantine free travel between those destinations.

Sources have suggested that Air Bridges will exists between France, Spain, Italy & Greece but they could be extended to cover the whole of Europe.

Currently any passenger arriving into the UK from outside of the Common Travel Area (CTA) is required self-quarantine for 14 days to prevent the spread of the Coronavirus (COVID-19)

This measure though has been branded ineffective by airlines who say it will further damage the industries recovery.

An “Air Bridge” will allow passengers to travel between two countries without the need to quarantine. Passengers may still be subject to checks on arrival though.

The changes will come into force on the 6the July.
