BALPA, the British Airline Pilots Association, has today suspended a strike planned for Friday by Thomas Cook pilots.

The union says the move is to consult with members on the way forward in the ongoing dispute between Thomas Cook pilots and the airline.

BALPA says that it will be consulting members on escalating the strikes to eight days in October. So far, action has been limited to 1-day strikes.

BALPA General Secretary Brian Strutton said, “there is the option of arbitration, but at the moment Thomas Cook has not indicated they would be prepared to accept this as a means of resolving their dispute with their pilots.”
