Vigin Galactic has announced that it will start commercial space flights this month marking the start of its monthly commercial spaceflight operation.
The first commercial spaceflight, Galactic 01, is targeting a launch window of 27th June to 30th June which will be followed by a 2nd flight in August and then monthly flights from there on.
Galactic 01 will carry three crew members from the Italian Air Force who will conduct research into Microgravity.
“We are launching the first commercial spaceline for Earth with two dynamic products — our scientific research and private astronaut space missions,” said Michael Colglazier, CEO, Virgin Galactic. “This next exciting chapter for Virgin Galactic has been driven by innovation, determination and a commitment to delivering an unparalleled and truly transformative customer experience.”
The launch of Virgin Galactic’s commercial operation comes shortly after the shutdown of Virgin’s satellite launching service, Virgin Orbit, was accounted following its first commercial mission failure.
