BEA Airbus A319 to fly at Jersey airshow

British Airways has announced that its baby retro jet, the BEA Airbus A319, will fly at the Jersey Airshow this September.

The specially painted Airbus A319 G-EUPJ has been painted in the British European Airways (BEA) livery as part of the airlines 100 year anniversary, BA100.

BEA was was one of the two airlines (BOAC was the other) that merged in 1974 to form British Airways and prior to the merger BEA operated many domestic and European flights including London to Jersey.

Anne-Marie Ryan, British Airways’ airport manager Jersey, said: “We are delighted to play such a leading role in the Jersey International Air Display. It is particularly important this year to look back at our long and successful association and the part we have played in the island’s history.”

In addition to the heritage livery in the air, British Airways’ ambassadors in various heritage uniforms will be on the ground to welcome visitors to the show which takes place on the 12th September at St. Aubin’s Bay.

Alongside the Airbus A319, 4 hours of flying displays will feature fast jets, vintage warbirds and classic aircraft.
