
The NATO Support and Procurement agency (NSPA) has placed an order for two Airbus A330 Multi-Role Tanker Transport (MRTT) aircraft which will bring its total to 12 of the type.
The order and delivery of the aircraft to the multinational fleet (MMF) is timed to coincide with Denmark and Sweden’s accession to NATO MMF operations The aircraft will be delivered in 2028 and 2029.
By joining the MMF, Sweden and Denmark will help to the base of participating nations providing critical defence capabilities.
The MMF is funded by the Netherlands, Luxembourg, with the progressive incorporation of Norway, Germany, Belgium and the Czech Republic.

The Airbus A330MRTT is based on the popular A330 airliner, whose wings are built at Broughton in North Wales.
It provides NATO with an aircraft capable of carrying out multiple roles from air to air tanker, troop transport and cargo transport.
