The UK’s leading regional airline Loganair (LM/LOG) is celebrating one year of connecting remote destinations in Scotland with London Heathrow (LHR/EGLL) with what it calls “Gamechanger” routes.
After obtaining the sought after slots into Heathrow Loganair announced it would connect the UK capital to Derry and Dundee, the latter connecting on to the Orkney and Shetland islands providing a route for remote Scottish islands to connect to Heathrow.
Ross Baker, Chief Customer Officer, Heathrow said: ‘It is fantastic to join Loganair to celebrate one year of their services to Dundee, Shetland, Orkney and the City of Derry.
“With a strong start to the year, domestic passenger numbers at Heathrow are the highest they have been in nearly a decade. Loganair are key to supporting this by widening the choice for passengers, opening up connectivity across Scotland and Northern Ireland to the UK’s hub.
“Regional connectivity is key to unlocking economic growth for every part of the UK and through our domestic discount, we are proud to support these lifeline routes at Heathrow.”
Derry has a a three times daily connection to London whilst Dundee sees a daily weekday service.
Loganair was already operating daily from Heathrow to the Isle of Man.

The airline has been a key operator for the remote Scottish islands providing vital lifelines not only to London but to Scottish cities and other parts of the UK which has resulted in Loganair going from strength to strength and posting solid revenues.
