Flybe's winter schedule underway at Cardiff Airport

Flybe (BE/BEE) has begun operating its 2017/18 Winter schedule from Cardiff Airport (CWL/EGFF)

This season will see Flybe operate 14 routes including increased services between Cardiff Airport and Belfast City up to two flights a day on weekdays, and an increase in the frequency of flights to Jersey, Cork and Berlin Tegel, which all increase to three times a week.

The Cardiff Airport to Rome Fiumicino route, which began earlier this year, is operating for the first time in a winter season.

Flybe’s Interim Chief Commercial Officer Ronnie Matheson said: “Our 2017/18 Winter schedule has been planned to provide reliable and affordable travel for both business and leisure customers and we especially look forward to welcoming many new passengers on board our first winter services to Rome.”

The start of the Winter 2017/18 schedule also marks the launch of Flybe and Eastern Airways franchise partnership. This means all of Eastern Airways’ routes are now operating with BE/BEE flight codes. This includes the daily public service flights between Cardiff to Anglesey

Deb Barber, CEO of Cardiff Airport, said: Flybe continues to add more well priced travel options for our customers which is great to see. Routes like Belfast City, Cork and Jersey are well established by now so it’s promising to see more flights added and Rome continuing all year round. The festive season is a popular time for customers to travel to visit family and friends, or for relatives to travel home for Christmas from across the UK and Europe. We look forward to another busy winter season.”
