Finnish flag carrier Finnair (AY/FIN) and Oneworld partner British Airways (BA/BAW) are expanding their codeshare agreement to cover seven additional UK domestic routes.

The agreement means that Finnair will add its flight code to British Airways flights from London Heathrow (LHR/EGLL) to Aberdeen (ABZ/EGPD), Belfast City (BHD/EGAC), Gibraltar(GIB/LXGB), Inverness (INV/EGPE), Jersey (JSY/EGJJ), Manchester (MAN/EGCC) and Newcastle (NCL/EGNT).

This will allow seamless travel for passengers to Finland from the UK with one booking and easy transfers.

Anssi Partanen, Finnair Market Director Europe, said: “Over the past few years, we have seen a growing demand for our flights to Helsinki and beyond from destinations across not only the UK, but also the Channel Islands and Gibraltar.

“Therefore, we are extremely excited to be expanding our codeshare with British Airways, to ensure customers travelling from across the country can enjoy seamless connectivity onto Finnair’s flights from London.

“With the ability to now book end-to-end journeys with Finnair, while also collecting Avios as a British Airways Executive Club Member, we know this move will prove popular with customers planning their long and short-haul getaways for 2025.”

In addition to the codeshare agreement, Finnair has also increased its capacity between Helsinki and the Uk by up to 50% with six daily flights from Heathrow and double-daily flights from Manchester. There is also seven weekly flights from Edinburgh.
