Gloucester, UK-based theory training specialist Padpilot has been selected by Etihad to provide ground training as part of the airline’s Aviation Training’s Multi Pilot Licence (MPL) training programs.

The partnership will help Etihad to deliver world-class training for its trainee pilots in a dynamic and effective learning environment.

“We strongly believe that theory training has to be engaging and interesting for our students to be successful in their flying career,” said Michael Boulton CTKI at Etihad Aviation Training. “Padpilot provides the most up-to-date, interactive and relevant courseware available, helping us achieve this goal.”

Launched in 2010, Padpilot was set up to give a new generation of pilots a richer and more effective learning experience using emerging technology.

It launched its first set of tablet-based ATPL manuals for the iPad in 2011 and since then has partnered with more than 130 academies, universities and national air forces around the world.

Nathan Gray, Padpilot CEO added: “We share Etihad’s commitment to providing an exemplary theory education for their next generation of airline pilots. Gaining a strong foundation of knowledge during initial training sets the stage for lifelong learning throughout a pilot’s career, resulting in enhanced skills
and safer operations,”

Etihad Aviation Training will be the first training organisation in the United Arab Emirates to adopt Padpilot ATPL(A) theory resources, which have recently been fully updated for the latest EASA ATPL(A) syllabus, including the new ECQB 2024 Amendment 5.
