
Ugandan flag carrier Uganda Airlines has announced a new direct flight from Entebbe to London Gatwick Airport (LGW/EGKK).
Launching the four-times-per-week flight on the 18th of May is Uganda Airlines’ first phase of re-entry into Europe and restores its connection to the UK for the first time in a decade. It also underscores the airline’s commitment to enhancing connectivity and fostering stronger ties between Uganda and the UK.
Chief Executive Officer of Uganda Airlines, Ms. Jenifer Bamuturaki, said “the direct flights will provide unparalleled convenience for travelers, catering to the growing demand for seamless travel between the two nations.”
Known as the ‘Pearl of Africa’, Uganda is known for breathtaking landscapes, rich wildlife, vibrant cultures, and unique tourism offerings of which the UK has always been a key focus for its tourist industry.
The flights will be operated by an Airbus A330-800 and passengers flying to Entebbe can take advantage of connections across Africa including Harare, Lusaka, Nairobi, Lagos, Abuja, Juba, Mogadishu, Kinshasa, Mombasa, Bujumbura, Dar es Salaam, Zanzibar, Kilimanjaro, Johannesburg, and the upcoming Accra route.
The flights are night flights operating on Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday and a morning flight on Sundays.
