Police across the UK have made at least 27 arrests of Just Stop Oil activists who were planning to cause widespread disruption to the UK’s airports this summer.

The activists, many of which are paid by Just Stop Oil for their actions, were arrested for conspiracy to interfere with the National Infrastructure which carries a possible prison sentence of up to 12 months.

Police also seized mobile phones and computers to gain evidence of Just Stop Oil’s plots.

Just Stop Oil took to social media to vent their outrage at the arrests claiming the UK was a “Police State”.

The activist group, which demands the UK ends oil use immediately, has warned the public it plans to cause major disruption at UK airports potentially causing misery for thousands looking to get away for their hard-earned holiday.

Recently several activists were remanded in custody after breaking into London Stansted Airport and causing damage to executive jets including one used as an air ambulance.
