Leading leisure airline Jet2 has doubled down on flights from the UK to Jersey, the largest of the Channel Islands, with a new route from Bournemouth (BOH/EGHH) and an increase in capacity on flights from Newcastle (NCL/EGNT).
The new route from Bournemouth is the airline’s sixth new route announced for Summer 2026 and will operate twice-weekly from the 25th of July through to the 29th of September on Tuesdays and Saturdays, making it ideal for short breaks and long weekends.
At Newscaslte, an additional Saturday flight will be added to increase capacity from the 26th of May through to the 29th of September, meaning there will be two weekly flights from the Northeast to Jersey.
In addition, the seasons from East Midlands (EMA/EGNX) and Leeds Bradford Airport (LBA/EGNM) will also be extended and will now operate from the 24th of May through to October.
Steve Heapy, CEO of Jet2 and Jet2holidays, said: “We are delighted to be significantly expanding our Jersey programme for Summer 26, following continued demand from customers and independent travel agents. The addition of this brand-new and exclusive route from Bournemouth Airport, on top of additional capacity and extended seasons across three other UK bases, means we are offering a great choice of flights departing from four of our UK airports next summer. With weekend and midweek flights available, customers have plenty of choice and flexibility when it comes to enjoying a getaway to Jersey next summer with Jet2.com and Jet2holidays.”
Tricia Warwick, Chief Executive of Visit Jersey, added: “Jet2’s decision to add new routes and increased capacity to Jersey is a significant boost for the island and our visitor economy. Connectivity is crucial for Jersey, and this expanded access will make it easier for more visitors to experience our beautiful island. We look forward to continued collaboration with Jet2 and Ports of Jersey to further strengthen Jersey’s position as a visitor destination.”
The changes and new routes mean that in Summer 2026 50,000 seats will be available from UK airports to the Channel Islands in Summer 2026.
