Eastern Airways (T3/EZE) have announced the creation of a brand new air service from Humberside (HUY/EGNJ) to Cornwall Airport Newquay (NQY/EGHQ) from April this year.

The service will initially operate twice-weekly on a Monday and Friday from 1st April in a bid to increase connectivity between the Humber and Yorkshire regions to Cornwall and South West Devon.

By operating on Mondays and Fridays, the flight times will give the maximum opportunity for those looking for long weekends or mid-week breaks.

Adam Wheatley, Managing Director of Eastern Airways, said: “Helping solve vital regional connectivity is what Eastern Airways have done for twenty five years. From our home base at Humberside, the addition of Cornwall Newquay, our newest base, helps connect one of the most distant surface transport journeys from the Humber Bank, Lincolnshire and East Riding of Yorkshire to one of the most popular tourist destinations in the UK.

“We are delighted to add Humberside to our London Gatwick service from Cornwall Newquay, adding to our existing services to Aberdeen which we have served continuously since 1997 and the return for the third year of Jersey which commences in May. All services from Humberside operate on low emission aircraft fitting our belief in how sustainable aviation can meet the need of the UK economy and extensive connectivity into the future.

“This also comes at a time when we are delighted to be adding new roles to support our expansion of services across our network”

The outbound flight from Humberside departs at 11:10 (local) with the return service leaving Cornwall at 13:05 (local) on both days.

Sam O’Dwyer, Managing Director, Cornwall Airport Newquay added: “We’re delighted to be adding Humberside to our network with Eastern Airways from Cornwall. With the demand for domestic travel increasing rapidly again now we are confident that this route will prove popular with those looking to find an efficient and cost-effective way to travel between the two regions.”

Fares on the new service are available from £74.99 one-way and can be booked at easternairways.com
