Cardiff Airport (CWL/EGFF) is to welcome Juventus fans to Wales for the UEFA Champions League final against Real Madrid on the 3rd June 2017.
Specially chartered aircraft will see the Italian club’s fans arrive at Wales’ National Airport on the 2nd & 3rd June with fights from Vueling already announced from Rome, Milan and Turin.
Supporters clubs for the teams will also organise their own tours with chartered aircraft and around 170,000 fans are expected to arrive in Cardiff for the match which kicks off on the 3rd June at 20:45 (BST/CET) at the National Stadium.
Under Union of European Football Associations (UEFA) guidelines opposing sets of fans travel to different airports where possible and as a result Real Madrid charters will be going to Bristol Airport (BRS/EGGD).
Due to the closure of St Athan for the period, the Vale of Glamorgan will miss out on General Aviation (GA) traffic for the event, this instead will go to Cotswold Airport (Kemble Airfield) in Gloucestershire.
That rule doesn’t apply to fans arriving on scheduled flights and Ryanair have taken the opportunity to schedule flights between Madrid and Cardiff for the weekend.
Cardiff Airport is expected to see around 100 extra movements each day on the the Friday and Saturday.
Cardiff is celebrating the final with a festival across the city. The whole of the city centre will be closed to traffic and a festival of football is being set up in Cardiff Bay. UEFA have provided a guide to fans visiting Cardiff including some language tips!

You seem to have forgotten Gloucestershire Airport’s role in handling GA traffic. Has Kemble got the required security that meets DfT requirements?
