Bad weather once again at Bristol Airport (BRS/EGGD) (the 2nd highest airport in the UK) has seen multiple flights divert into Cardiff Airport (CWL/EGFF).
The bad weather is reducing visibility on Bristol Airports runway 09 which doesn’t have a high enough category of instrument landing system (ILS) to handle very low visibility arrivals.
So far Ryanair flight RYR8255 from Gdansk and Easyjet EZY6162 from Amsterdam have diverted to the Welsh capital with more expected as the bad weather is expected to remain for several more hours.
Several aircraft belonging to Easyjet, Ryanair, BMI Regional and Stobart Air spent around 30 minutes in a holding pattern north of the regional airport.
