Following Friday’s washout which saw just a handful of aircraft get airborne, the organisers of the Royal International Air Tattoo (RIAT) at RAF Fairford have confirmed that Saturday will go ahead as planned.

The Met Office is forecasting rain, thunderstorms and wind gusts up to 45mph for the Gloucestershire base which means there will be a limited flying programme for the day but despite that the air operations team have reviewed all relevant information and Saturday’s RIAT will take place as planned.

Organisers have said that anyone visiting the show should come prepared with warm and waterproof clothing, as well as suitable footwear.

Sunday is looking a little better with less rain, wind and even a dry afternoon.
