Qatar Airways (QR/QTR) is to increase the frequency of flights from Doha (DOH/OTHH) to Manchester Airport (MAN/EGCC) to three flights per day.

The increase to three flights per day reflects the growing demand there has been for the route since it began back in 2003.

The additional daily service will also give passengers connecting via Doha greater choice of flights and reduced connection times.

The extra flight, which starts tomorrow (14th June), will provide an increase in capacity of around 35% between the two cities.

Gary Kershaw, Qatar Airways Country Manager for UK & Ireland, said: “Since launching in 2011, Manchester has performed exceptionally well, proving to be one of our most successful UK routes. The demand from our customers meant it was only a matter of time before we increased our flight frequency, and we are delighted to offer passengers increased choice and flexibility with the launch of our triple daily flights from the airport.”

Julian Carr, Aviation Director at Manchester Airport, added: “It’s fantastic that Qatar Airways will now be operating three flights a day from Manchester. They’re hugely popular with our passengers thanks to their modern fleet, superb onboard product and the number of connections they offer through Doha.”

Qatar Airways operates the flights with start of the art Airbus A350-900 and Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner aircraft.
