Embraer E-Frieghter gains global certitifcation

Embraer E190F

The European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) has granted certification for Embraer’s E-Freighter, the E190F which together with its certification from the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) and National Civil Aviation Agency of Brazil (ANAC) means it’s certified for global operations.

“EASA certification is a key milestone in our passenger-to-freighter conversion program. This is an exciting market, and we have developed the perfect aircraft to fill the gap, meeting the demand globally for faster deliveries, not just to metro areas, but all regions. The E-Jets are a global success with a large footprint worldwide, we are now ready to offer the highest standard of freighter solution to customers globally”, said Martyn Holmes, Chief Commercial Officer, Embraer Commercial Aviation.

The E190F, which had its first flight in April last year, was publicly shown for the first time at the 2024 Farnborough Air Show where it received significant attention.

Embraer says that the E190F will offer 40% more cargo capacity than equivalent turboprops in its target market and 30% lower operating costs compared to narrowbody freighters.

By utilising the main deck as well as the underfloor cargo space the E190F has a cargo capacity of 13,500 kg.
