Jet2.com and Jet2Citybreaks have added two new routes to the Hungarian capital, Budapest from the UK for Winter 25/26.
The new routes are from East Midlands Airport (EMA/EGNX) and Newcastle Airport (NCL/EGNT) offering passengers from the Midlands and North East the chance to get away for a cheap city break.
Both routes will operate twice weekly with flights East Midlands operating on Mondays and Fridays from the 10th of October 2025 through to the 27th of April 2026 and flights from Newcastle operating on Thursdays and Sundays from the 9th of October 2025 through to the 27th of April 2026.
Steve Heapy, CEO of Jet2.com and Jet2holidays, said: “Budapest is a city that is soaring in popularity right now, and it is easy to see why when you consider its fantastic culture, history, nightlife and cuisine, not to mention its stunning architecture. In response to the demand that we are seeing from customers and independent travel agents, we are absolutely delighted to be giving holidaymakers across the East Midlands and North East the chance to experience everything Budapest has to offer.
“This expansion means we are on sale to Budapest from six UK airport bases for Winter 25/26 and we are looking forward to working with hotel, airport and industry partners to make this a hugely successful programme.”
Budapest comprises two areas, Buda – the hilly area and Pest – the flatter area with a 19th-century Chain Bridge connecting the two across the River Danube.
The city is rich in heritage and culture with the old town of Buda standing out to those seeking a historical view, it even has a funicular railway running up to Castle Hill.
Its parliament buildings and basilicas also make the city a great destination for a city break.
The city itself is full of cafes and restaurants that will suit lovers of all kinds of food and drink and its Christmas markets run from mid-November through to early January.
