Leading UK regional airline, Loganair (LM/LOG) has said it is bringing forward plans to increase capacity on key routes from the Isle of Man by utilising larger aircraft.

Currently, routes from the Isle of Man to Manchester, Liverpool and Birmingham are operated using a 48 seat ATR42 turboprop but from October, this will change to a 70-seat ATR72.

Loganair says that the early increase is based on customer demand for the routes.

Chief commercial officer Kay Ryan said: “It is absolutely fantastic to see customer demand steadily increasing on these key routes.

“We had originally anticipated basing the ATR72 on the island from the beginning of November, but forward sales are proving strong enough to allow us to bring that date forward to October 3. “This will ensure there are enough available seats as travel patterns widen further with the easing of domestic and international restrictions.”

One of the advantages of flying with Loganair from the Isle of Man is the ability to seamless connect (interline) with Loganair’s partner airlines including British Airways, KLM, Qatar Airways, Emirates and United Airlines.
