Irish budget airline Ryanair (FR/RYR) has stepped in with “rescue fares” on the London Southend (SEN/EGMC) to Vilnius (VNO/EYVI) route that was dropped by Wizz Air (W6/WZZ).
The fares start at just £9.99 and are designed to help out passengers left without flights to the Lithuanian capital after the cancellation by Wizz Air.
Ryanair flies to Vilnius twice-weekly from Southend and the rescue fares are valid for travel from now until the end of August 2020 but must be booked by midnight this Wednesday, 24th June.
Ryanair’s Eimear Ryan said: “Wizz Air’s customers can continue to enjoy the lowest fares and most reliable service by switching to Ryanair, and we’ve released rescue fares to assist customers affected by Wizz Air’s ceasing of this route.
“Customers can fly from London Southend to Vilniusoperating twice weekly at fares starting from just £9.99 until the end of August 2020, and these rescue fares are on sale now until midnight Wednesday 24 June, only on the Ryanair.com website“
Vilnius was one of three routes that Wizz Air announced from Southend last August but now the airline will only be connecting Southend to Bucharest.
