Manchester Airport (MAN/EGCC) has told passengers to stay away this morning and to check with their airlines on the status of their flights before travelling to the airport following a major power cut which struck in the early hours of this morning.
The outage has affected both Terminal 1 and Terminal 2 at the UK’s 3rd busiest airport, although flights from Terminal 3 aren’t affected by the power outage but still may face delays. The airport advised they should check in as normal.
Flights are starting to resume from Terminal 1 and 2 but staff are prioritising those for passengers who are already at the airport where thousands have already been waiting.
The outage was not airport-specific and was part of a wider power failure that affected nearby industrial estates as well as the airport.
