Loganair (LM/LOG) has operated a special flight for seven children with life-shortening conditions supported by Children’s Hospices Across Scotland (CHAS) along with six of their siblings.

The flight took the special passengers on a sight-seeing trip along the west coast of Scotland flying from Glasgow Airport (GLA/EGPF).

The children were joined on the flight by Snow White, Rapunzel, Spiderman and Batman thanks to Wish Upon A Star Kingdom.

One of those onboard was Jameson Kinloch, 5, from Lanarkshire, who is fascinated by all things aviation and dreams of becoming a pilot when he grows up. Jameson lives with short bowel syndrome (SBS). Jameson’s birthday was just a week away when the flight took place make it a special early present.

Jameson’s mum, Sam Allison, said: “Jameson loves planes and flying – his favourite parts are take-off and landing as he says it feels he’s on a rollercoaster. He has wanted to be a pilot ever since they had a career day at his school, so he was very excited to be able to meet the pilot and the co-pilot, who both went out of their way to make him feel very special.

“Thank you so much to Loganair and CHAS for organising this amazing experience and helping us make such wonderful memories together as a family – we all absolutely loved it.”

When asked what his favourite part of the day was, Jameson replied: “Everything – I loved it!”.

The event was organised as part of Loganair’s ongoing support for the charity CHAS and since 2024, Loganair customers have raised £27,000.

Luke Lovegrove, chief commercial officer at Loganair, said: “Every year we’re honoured to create this unforgettable experience for CHAS families. It’s more than just a flight – it’s about joy, imagination, and shared memories. Working with CHAS and our incredible partners allows us to make a real difference, and we’re proud to play our part.”

Laura Swift, senior charge nurse for CHAS at Home, who was involved in planning the flight, said: “Seeing the children’s faces light up with joy as they boarded the plane was just magical. For many of the families, it was their very first time flying, which made the experience even more special, and for other families, it was perhaps the only time they would ever experience the joy of flying, as they have difficulty arranging holidays that involve air travel due to their child’s complexities.

“From the VIP escort through security to meeting their favourite characters and looking out the windows mid-flight, it was a truly unforgettable experience for everyone involved.”

This years flight was the fourth annual CHAS flight experience with previous events taking off from Edinburgh and Aberdeen airports.
