Embraer hits record backlog at end of 2024

Brazilian OEM Embraer has reported a record company-wide backlog in its final quarter results (Q4) for 2024.

The Sao Paulo headquartered business makes the popular regional jet range including the E170 and E190 E2 airliners, business jets, and military aircraft.

In its financial results, it listed a backlog worth $26.3 billion, a 41% increase year on year with defence and security operations accounting for the biggest area of growth with a 67% year-on-year increase.

Commercial aviation was still worth the most to Embraer though with the backlog for airliners accounting for $10.2bn of its total backlog albeit down slightly from Q3. Year-on-year the commercial aviation sector was up 15%.

Executive Jets had a backlog worth $7.4bn in Q4 with jets such as the Phenom and Praetor selling well in the ever-growing biz jet market, this was almost double the Q3 figure of $4.4bn.

Defence and Security along with additional support services contributed $8.8bn to the backlog value with Defence accounting for $4.2bn and Services and Support $4.6bn.
