Cardiff Airport (CWL/EGFF) has had two special visitors in one day, one delivering Personal Protective Equipment, the other training.

The first arrival of the morning was a Nordwind Boeing 777-300 VP-BJL which brought in the latest shipment of PPE equipment for the Welsh Government.

The aircraft carried around 600,000 fluid-resistant gowns and 1.2 million surgical masks shipped in from China.

The second special arrival of the day was ex-Virgin Atlantic Airbus A340-600 9H-EAL (ex-G-VNAP) which is now operated by Maleth Aero.

The aircraft is also being used for PPE shipments but this flight was for crew training flying up from Bournemouth Airport via Newquay.

The aircraft carries the special “Thank you NHS” livery.

After a short time on the ground, the A340 then departed back to Newquay before returning later for more training at Cardiff Airport.
