Wales World Cup bid gives boost to Cardiff Airport

Wales world cup bid

Cardiff Airport will see a passenger number boost today as fans arrive to see if Wales’ World Cup bid continues against the Republic of Ireland.

Last week Wales were aiming for a playoff place until a shock result for Serbia has Chris Coleman’s men suddenly in the running for automatic qualification for Russia 2018.

The game against the Republic of Ireland will be played at Cardiff City Stadium and will see an influx of Irish fans arriving at Wales’ National Airport.

8 flights are due into Cardiff Airport from Dublin today from airlines including Ryanair, Cityjet, ASL Airlines and Enter Air with the same number due to return on Tuesday to take fans back to Dublin.

Around 3500 Irish fans are expected at the stadium in Leckwith.
