Alun Cairns, MP for the Vale of Glamorgan has been appointed as the new Welsh Secretary following the removal of Stephen Crabb to Work And Pensions.
As Cardiff Airport sits in the Vale of Glamorgan this could be good news for issues such as Air Passenger Duty devolution which is badly needed to boost the Welsh Economy and encourage growth at Cardiff Airport.
Mr Cairns was elected as a Conservative MP for the Vale in 2010 and lives in the constituency.
In addition to Mr Cairns appointment, MP for Aberconwy Guto Bebb has been appointed Under Secretary of State at the Wales Office.
