The worlds largest airline, United Airlines (UA/UAL) is set to be the shirt sponsor of newly promoted Wrexham AFC for the 2023/24 season.
Wrexham AFC shot to fame after the club was bought by Hollywood superstars Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney and their rise back to the Football league was charted in a series on Disney Plus called Welcome to Wrexham.
Now United Airlines will replace TikTok as the sponsor of both the Mens and Women’s teams at Wrexham FC.
Announcing the deal, Ryan and Rob took to social media in a video to say “Wrexham is going to be sponsored by United Airlines, it’s the front of shirt which is super exciting.
“It’s a banner day for the team and the town.”
Josh Earnest, from United Airlines added that Wrexham “represents the best of what professional sports has to offer”.
“We’re also excited to partner with the team and their co-chairmen across social media and on their hit TV show as the incredible story of this team and its loyal fans continues to unfold”
Having a sponsor such as United Airlines puts Wrexham far ahead of league rivals including its South Wales neighbours, Newport County who are sponsored by Pure Vans.
