Türkiye’s flag carrier, Turkish Airlines, has announced it is adding additional flights from the UK & Ireland as part of its summer schedule offering more choice for those looking to visit Türkiye or fly globally via iGA Istanbul Airport.
From London Heathrow (LHR/EGLL) there will now be 47 weekly flights, an additional two, to Istanbul and London Gatwick (LGW/EGKK) will also see an additional two weekly flights brining the total to 28 flights per week to Istanbul.
Manchester Airport MAN/EGCC) gets three additional weekly fights between the North West and Istanbul bringing the total to 28.
Birmingham Airport (BHX/EGBB) also gets a boost with four extra flights bringing the number of direct weekly flights to Istanbul to 14.
For Irish travellers the current 18 weekly flights to Istanbul from Dublin (DUB/EIDW) increases to 21 and in Scotland, the weekly total rises from 10 to 14 flights per week from Edinburgh (EDI/EGPH).
Harun Basturk, SVP Sales at Turkish Airlines, said: “Demand from holidaymakers in the UK and Ireland to visit Türkiye – with its rich culture, history, cuisine, hospitality, and stunning coastal resorts, remains strong year-round and peaks during the summer. We’re increasing capacity to meet this demand and offer more flexibility for travellers.”
He added that growing interest in destinations beyond Istanbul also contributed to the expansion: “As the airline that flies to more destinations than any other, our global network spans the Middle East, Asia, Africa and Oceania – all popular destinations for leisure travellers. Istanbul Airport’s status as the world’s most connected hub allows seamless onward connections from the UK and Ireland to Türkiye and beyond.”
With Turkish Airlines flying to more countries than any other airline, flying via Istanbul is a real choice now for UK passengers and adding a stopover in vibrant Istanbul can only add to the experience.
