Thomas Cook has officially relaunched as an online only travel agent operated by Chinese travel giant Fosun.
We revealed last week that plans were at an advanced stage to relaunch the brand which Fosun bought the rights for £11m when the travel company collapsed last year.
There will be no high street shops or airline though.
A quick look at the new online travel agency shows that they are selling package deals with flights operated by airlines such as EasyJet.
Former Thomas Cook Group Strategy and Technology Director Alan French has been hired as the Chief Executive for the new business.
Speaking about the launch Mr French said: “What happened last year was a tragedy at a personal level for many thousands of my former colleagues, our business partners and of course our loyal customers.
“The resilience and affection still felt for the Thomas Cook brand reflects the huge commitment and professionalism of those former colleagues. We are very much in their debt and hope to have their backing as we look to take the brand into a new era.”
The new Thomas Cook employs around 50 people.
