All operations, including flights, were suspended at Birmingham Airport (BHX/EGGD) this afternoon as police dealt with a suspicious vehicle parked near the terminal.
As a precaution, the airport terminal was also been evacuated.
West Midlands Police confirmed they were dealing with reports of a suspicious vehicle at the airport and the airport has advised people not to come to the airport while the operation was ongoing and to check with their airlines on the status of flights.
Operations resumed at the airport at around 15:45hrs.
This is the second security alert in two months for the Midland’s airport after a partial evacuation happened in September when an unclaimed bag was left in arrivals.
