According to the Daily Post, Mysterious aircraft have been flying over North Wales leaving mysterious trails behind them.

The mystery deepened when the Daily Post checked 2 web sites which show live aircraft information. This revealed “no sign of any aircraft circling over North Wales at the time”.

Their readers leapt onto the story with comments such as:

“Chemtrails are true. Three above my house and they stop and start.”, Daniel Roberts (Facebook)

“Chemtrails at their best wake up people they are not contrails!! They’re spreading chemicals over us every day and have been for years.” Nia Wynn (Facebook)

Unfortunately for the Daily Post and conspiracy theorists these “Chemtrails” were nothing more than high altitude contrails left by F15 Strike Eagles training in the area, which is in fact, very common over North Wales and parts of England.

Military aircraft, along with many civilian aircraft do not show on websites such as Flightradar24 or Planefinder however they do show on specialist radar plotting boxes.

Contrails are clouds formed when water vapour condenses and freezes around small particles that exist in aircraft exhaust. Some of that water vapour comes from the air around the plane; and, some is added by the exhaust of the aircraft.

Conspiracy theorists have claimed that governments are spraying unwitting public members with chemicals from aircraft in these so-called “Chemtrails” and attempting to alter the weather, however no actual evidence has ever been put forward to support their claims and scientific proof debunks these theories.

Perhaps when the Daily Post has solved this “mystery” they can move on to whether Andy Kaufman is alive or dead.
