Scottish regional airline Loganair (LM/LOG) is boosting connectivity to and from the Scottish islands with more ‘same-plane; services in its 2025 schedule.

The new services include connecting Sumburgh to Belfast, Sumburgh to Manchester, Kirkwall to Belfast and Kirkwall to Manchester.

Operating the routes as ‘same-plane’ means passengers don’t need to deboard and change planes to complete the route and remain on the aircraft at any stops.

Luke Lovegrove, chief commercial officer at Loganair, said: “We’re thrilled to launch new services connecting Shetland and Orkney with Manchester and Belfast on one-plane services that provide convenient routes between the bustling cities and remote Scottish islands.

“We’re committed to providing reliable connectivity across our network and it’s fantastic to be able to enhance travel options for the communities in which we operate.”

The new services will start on Loganair’s summer schedule in 2025.
